Topic: Morning Presentation: Explain right of way engineering (RWE) end to end — from record research through post-construction monumentation — and the role of the licensed surveyor and right of way agent in the process on public infrastructure projects. It will cover what RWE is, the workflow and the value add of Surveyors and Right of Way agents.
Afternoon Presentation: Walk through a surveyor’s scope on public works projects including — base mapping, topo and dips, utility as-built requests and locating, monument preservation, and construction services. It will compares base-mapping methods by benefit, constraint, best use, and relative cost; talk about deliverables such as CAD topography, right of way, orthophotos, and digital terrain models; discuss the four SUE utility quality levels from QL-D through QL-A; monument preservation obligations under California law 8771(d) 13; construction services like staking, structure and railroad monitoring for horizontal directional drilling, and automated monitoring.
